Walking in the traditional neighbourhoods of Athens, enjoying the sightseeings or a good meal in a Greek restaurant is a must during your stay in our lovely city. There are so many beautiful neighbourhoods to visit such as Plaka, Kolonaki, Thesion, Ampelokipi, Gyzi, Koukaki, Kypseli, Pagrati, Patisia and more. Shopping in the fashion district of Ermou and Aeolou streets as well as Kolonaki area is also something that you do not want to miss it. Do not forget the open-air flee market of Athens. It is a paradise for art lovers, collectors and for everyone. Live your Greek dream in Athens by exploring the city at your own pace. We can provide you with information about Athens' secrets and tips to enjoy the city.

Direct connection by metro-subway to all the cultural places in Athens from our apartment "Athenian Oasis with fountain". In 3 minutes to downtown and in 5 minutes to Acropolis by metro. You can also walk and go to downtown. When you exit our building, turn left and follow the main street. Just go straight by the end of this street and you will see the National Library and the University (Neo-classical buildings). It is walking distance only of 20 minutes.
3. Business Travel
Direct connection to Athens Airport is offered by metro or bus or taxi. We can arrange your transfer from or to the airport if you are interested in. Our apartment in Athens has offered free WiFi complimentary. Copy Centers including copy and fax machines are in walking distance from our apartment (2 minutes). There are 2 copy-centers close by. Ampelokipi metro station, bus stop and taxi terminal station are within walking distance from the apartment. This apt is very quiet and fully equipped to enjoy a comfortable stay. Restaurants, pizzeria and cafe shops are close by and they can serve you in or at the apartment (delivery method). Restaurants brochures and copy-centers business cards are placed in the apartment for your convenience. There are also some classy and well designed cafe-shops across the Supreme Court of Athens that is close to the apartment.
4. Gastronomy Tourism
We can suggest you the best restaurants or cozy places for meals, pizzeria, creperies, bakeries or bistro of Athens. We can also recommend you cooking or wine tasting experiences. We can organize the best gastronomy experience in the apartment because we can cook for you once and have together lunch or dinner at the huge balcony. The above experience is optional and tailor-made following your food needs and expectations. In addition, private wine tasting can be arranged for you. We can also arrange a food market tour in Athens including the traditional local market in downtown and green or fish market as well.
5. Experiential Eco Tourism
We can suggest you to visit the best parks and hills in Athens such as the National Garden, the Lycabettus Hill and more. We can also arrange a special green tour in the best flower and herb markets of the city. Our balcony has also included a great variety of plants, Greek herbs, flowers and exotic plants. We can arrange a presentation on Greek herbs and plants in the property "Athenian oasis with fountain" if you are interested in.
We can recommend you or arrange for you a variety of outdoor activities including daily trips to Cape Sounion and hiking tours to Marathon, Raphina (4 km, 4 hours of hiking) or Pikermi area (3 km, 4 hours of hiking).
6. Marine Tourism
It includes fishing, sailing and yachting at the coastal zone of Athens. We can recommend and/or arrange a traditional fishing experience for you. In particular, we can connect you to our captains of coastal areas. They are the organizers of the fishing tours starting from Raphina or Nea Makri. They offer 4 hours fishing tours and they speak English, German and Greek language.
We can also arrange a half day sailing morning or sunset trip. Experience highlights are as follows: 5 hours sailing on board on a modern sailing boat, light lunch or snack with Greek appetizers, glass of wine, soft drink, water, and professional English speaking Captain and crew. For those who are interested, snorkeling equipment and fishing rods are included. The final price includes fuel, port fees and taxes. They are customized semi-private sailing trips with limited number of guests on board or only private sailing trips with your own private group of friends. There is a list of libraries in Athens such as the National Library that was transferred and reestablished in 2016 in a very modern and with high technology building located within the Stavros Niarchos Foundation-Cultural Center. Today the National Library situated in Palaio Phaliro area is close to the south coastal zone of Athens and on the right hand of Synggrou Avenue (end of this avenue). Blue Bus 550 from Vasilissis Sophias Avenue (next to Ampelokipi Square Park) goes to Palaio Phaliro. Our apartment in Xylokastro is a real paradise for any season. In summer, you can enjoy all sea sports. In winter time, it is an excellent choice for enjoying the indoors and the great restaurants, bars and local stores. Walking and hiking are great daily activities.

Xylokastro has many cultural attractions and traditional places to visit. From the Christian Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Vlasios to Sikelianos Villa, the marina, the Folk Art Museum in Kamari (next village) to Caryotika village or Trikala, a mountain village, the Monastery of Holy Mother at the peak and more. We can arrange a local tour for you if you would like to.
For those who love art, Xylokastro has offered a great variety of land and seascapes to enjoy and paint. You only need your portable easel and your colours. Just walk and find the perfect spot for you. Create a unique master-piece and take it with you back to your country.
